The Al-Tajiat Sports Complex project includes a stadium that can welcome more than 60,000 spectators, including all the related facilities of a sports centre. Its structural design was entrusted to a partnership between the NCK team and an Iranian engineer. NCK was mainly involved in the basic concept, i.e. the development of a seismic resistance system as well as the design of the roof and stands. NCK’s mandate also included the approval of the plans and estimates.

The study of the cantilevered roof involved an analysis of several variants, including a canvas concept and the ultimately selected rigid roof concept on a steel frame.

Construction began in 2014 but was halted due to armed conflicts in the region.
