A major cultural hub, the BAnQ is one of the most prestigious projects to have been built in Montreal in recent years. Since its opening, this achievement has been applauded both by specialists and the public. It is also one of the firm’s most complex projects.

It consists of a building of some 33,000 m² spread over five floors, with two floors of parking for 450 vehicles. There were many challenges: site decontamination, construction in a very dense urban environment, building without shear walls, large overhangs, design of a beam and slab system to accommodate the large spans required for the library layout, high overload capacity of 7.2 kPa, etc.

For this project, NCK was in consortium with the firm Géni plus Inc.
