This new building, with 40,000 m² on 9 levels, included the integration of an existing building that had to be completely renovated and refurbished. This achievement represents Phase IV of the Cité du Multimédia, which is intended to accommodate new high-tech companies, particularly in the information field.

To prevent sound transmission problems, the building structure was designed entirely in concrete. In addition, for better space planning, the spans of the slabs were increased to 9 m. Overhangs of 2.5 m on the façade made the elimination of columns possible and allowed the installation of uninterrupted windows. A cantilevered concrete walkway on the second level was designed to connect the building’s two parts. Finally, the construction of two parking levels, adjacent to the existing buildings, was also a technical challenge as part of the realisation of this project.

The structure of this project, carried out in “fast track” mode, was completed in 12 months. NCK provided the complete structural engineering services for the entire project.
