With the growth of airport activities at Dorval in the early 2000s, the main parking deck needed to be expanded to serve the airport’s clientele. Since the expansion, this new 4-storey structure has provided over 1300 additional parking spaces, while also accommodating the car rental services located on the ground floor.
The parking lot is entirely designed in precast concrete elements. It consists of columns, inverted T-beams, and double-T slabs resting on cast-in-place surface foundations. Over the years, NCK has also periodically repaired and rehabilitated the concrete of the two original sections (1986 and 1996) of the multi-level parking garage.
For this major expansion project, NCK provided complete structural engineering consulting services.
