Located on a hill in Kangiqsualujjuaq overlooking this magnificent northern village, the reception pavilion of Kuururjuaq National Park includes the centre welcoming visitors. The building also includes an interpretation center which hosts a permanent exhibition on the geology, fauna and flora of the national park. Some administrative spaces are also located there. After being welcomed in this pavilion, visitors are brought by bush plane to the national park from the Kangiqsualujjuaq aerodrome.

The upper structure of the building is made of wood, resting on a lower structural steel frame. The foundations are specially designed for the Great North, as they rest on permafrost.

For this project in Nunavik, NCK provided comprehensive structural engineering consulting services.
