This 28-storey building located on de Maisonneuve Street offers 45,200 m² of office space, 6 floors of above-ground parking for 360 vehicles as well as a large lobby with a winter garden. The Manulife company occupies 11 of the building’s floors. An underground passage connects the building to the subway stations. It is a perfect example of efficient use of space and successful urban integration in one of the last available locations in the Montreal business district. It has received LEED Gold certification and is rated AAA.

The building’s construction is of a mixed structure: reinforced concrete on the first 9 floors and steel structure for the upper floors. The core accommodating the elevators and mechanical spaces is designed in reinforced concrete over the entire height of the tower to ensure the lateral stability of the structure to wind and earthquake. The building rests on deep caisson-type foundations anchored in the rock.

For this project, NCK provided complete structural engineering consulting services.
